Turn your device camera into a portable document scanner with Scan to PDF. Capture receipts, contracts, handwritten notes, whiteboards, or any physical document and convert them instantly to PDF — all within your browser with zero uploads.
Each capture becomes a separate PDF page. Position your document within the on-screen guide, tap capture, and repeat for multi-page documents. Perfect for digitizing paperwork on the go — no scanner hardware or mobile app needed.
Turn your device camera into a document scanner without installing anything. Scan to PDF captures photos of paper documents and assembles them into a single PDF, one page per capture. Everything runs in the browser, so your images never reach a server. It is the closest thing to carrying a scanner with you, and it works on any device with a camera.
The tool opens your camera directly, using the rear camera when one is available. A dashed frame appears over the live view so you can line up the document edge to edge. Tap the capture button to take a photo, repeat for each page, and the tool assembles the pages into a PDF in the order you captured them.
You can delete a single capture that came out blurry or use Clear All to start over. That makes it easy to reshoot one page without redoing the whole stack, which is the difference between a quick job and a frustrating one.
Camera scanning is at its best when a document exists only on paper and needs to travel as a file. Expense receipts that have to be attached to a reimbursement form, handwritten notes that should be backed up, a signed consent form that must be emailed to an office, a whiteboard that should be shared with the team. In each case the fastest path is a photo, and the output is a proper PDF rather than a loose image file.
It also replaces the copier when you are away from one. A hotel check-in document, a parking ticket, a boarding pass, or a page of someone else's paperwork can all be digitized on the spot with the device already in your pocket.
Scan quality comes down to the photo, not the tool. Work in good light, keep the document flat, and fill the guide as completely as you can. Shading the page with your body cuts glare, and placing the document on a dark surface helps the edges stand out. Hold still for a moment after tapping capture so motion blur does not soften the text. A straight-on angle beats a slightly tilted one, since perspective distortion is hard to undo later.
Free use is capped at 10 pages per document. Premium subscribers can scan unlimited pages, process in batches, and skip the wait before conversion. Because the camera feed and captures are handled entirely in your browser, sensitive paperwork such as receipts and medical records never leaves your device.
Pro tip
Shoot receipts and contracts right where they are. Lay the document on a flat, well-lit surface rather than holding it in the air, and take a moment to straighten it inside the guide before each capture. The extra two seconds per page show up as clearly readable PDFs.
